Is it a bluetooth crank? Maybe it is too far from the receiver/transmitter

Haven't had one of those (wives) since '01, but have a lady friend that occasionally calls with a question. Every key stroke is a long discussion...

Yup. Mine was 20* out. Kirby welded the one on my S&S crank. Bad vibration. If the crank isnt scissored then looks like you are on the right track.

What is a scissored crank? I mean, what happens to make it that way? How can you tell?
