God, I hate computers and IT ****. Some how or other I managed to be the IT guy here. Trying to reconnect to a printer on a wireless network. Finally figured out what was wrong. Which makes my problem even worse.
Eventually I learned to take a low key approach to sharing computer knowledge at work. Back when everyone else was running XP or Win NT, my company was still networking 3.1, and when IT guys would screw something up or say they didn't know what was going on, my manager would ask me to fix it. Even got requests for me from other departments. When they "upgraded" to NT, already outdated by then, I used the excuse that I'd never used it and didn't have a clue, and eventually I was forgotten about. I found out the IT guys were making about half what I did, when good ones with some companies made as much or more. Kind of explains it...
