I believe it said that the polarity is reversed from normal, though.
Probably wrong, but heating elements are rarely polarity specific if I remember right.

Hard to tell with HD though

You are correct in not being polarity sensitive.....which brings us back to the element (+) & the housing (-) coming into contact somewhere along the line.
Probably when the lighter is pushed in to heat.

Howdy Jack, Doc, Greg, Tim, AlW and all the Woods! Back from Benjamin's baseball game to do some shufflin. Apparently planning outages is not a pre-req for anyone on our team and I get pulled away from the game and riding to werk with these jerk offs!

Man Pearl is a heart breaker...

11:30 last nite in a parking lot, pretty pretty gal comes up and asks for a ride. Sure, no problem. Took her for a good 1/2 hr ride. All innocent. Then as she's leaving she surprises me with a damn kiss.

Flashed thru my mind about Baby Doll killing me, but it's all good, I didn't inhale...

Marky Dos, Greg, Tracy, Doc, Al, I'm out.

Baby Doll is on baby sit duty, and I was just informed I am too...

Got some BIG ol' shrimp sitting in lime juice. Gonna make a bunch of shrimp k-bobs this evening...

Tracy, I answered you the other day about the lighters. Seems that regular car lighters and sockets have a problem on bikes..went crazy a few years ago with this. Haven't had a problem in 3 years with Harley's optional lighter kit for $30. There are different configurations for the lighter at the end near the element. I've tried several and they don't work. The closest to Harley is from a Ford
Amazon Amazon

I used it at MV and didn't have any problems. You may have to tweek the fingers in the socket a little because sometimes it has tendency to pop completely out....You need a lighter leash like I have...can't lose one.
