Engine wasn't running, one prop isn't bent. No fire... that's kinda rare for a hard crash with avgas. Shame, for the people, and for a plane that can't be replaced.

Heard multiple radials Sunday and thought some guys with AT6's from an airport near here were cruising around again, sometimes joined by a visiting real fighter. Looked out, and it was one I haven't seen flying in a long time, a B17. Been at least 65 years since I've heard a formation of radial engine bombers, all I can remember is a whole lot of them in V's, and seem to remember vibration more than noise. But just that one B17 sure sounded good.

We have several Warbirds at the local GAA that is about 5 miles from me. I'm under one of the pattern legs. We get visits from various other planes throughout the summer, including B-17s and B-25s.

Need to think about WS'18 locations. We discussed north to Michigan but after careful consideration I'd also like to add South Dakota to the nominations.
