TOAK the Thread Of All Knowledge IX
On a side note, it is with a somewhat heavy heart that I am officially announcing that the King is up for sale (https://www.hdforums.com/forum/motor...road-king.html).
The King will not be replaced (there's the heavy heart part) as I have come to the conclusion that life has changed a lot in the past 2 years and my focus is on family and camping. I was lamenting with my wife this weekend, and a Harley has been such a HUGE part of my life for nearly a decade and I never saw these changes coming, but they are here.
They are good and fun changes, but a lot of different than what I thought it would. We purchased some lakefront property and my free time and free cash flow are being spent at the lake. So much so that when I am not at the lake, I dream of the lake.
Whew, that was heavy, so back to your regularly scheduled program.

One day, everyone of us will be a stage when we cut our sleds loose, either selling them or handing them down. It happens to all of us, you just chose a different path. Enjoy your property but more importantly, enjoy your family.

You could also be in the situation I'm in. I bought the wife a bike now she has the fever (bad) and the aftermarket is calling her name and my wallet is nowhere to be seen
Yeah, that whole family man thing takes hold...
It just that Harley has been my mainstay, was always there for a ride through divorce, less prosperous times, and carried into much better times. Hard to let go.
And thank you, I appreciate the "wind in your hair" advice.
I was like that too, any spare $ went into something HD.
I told the wife when this is done I'll need another $1,000 just for new clothes because most of my clothing is Harley.
Why be heavy hearted, brother? Do you and what makes you happy. Motorcycles are a way for a man to get some wind in his hair and leave the troubles behind. If having lake front property and spending time with your family is your "wind in the hair" then do it.

Craig, you do as you need to do and don't worry one touch about it.
I'M Home. Or close enough stopped for a beer and a shot at my watering hole. Maybe 2shots.

My first bike was a 68 sportster, I was a senior in HS. Had them my whole life, but I could live with out them in heartbeat.
I bet she'll be put off to go clothes shopping with or for you
Hey Larry, OldSkewl (I always forget your name) and OG Mark! Glad you made it (close to) home safely.

Easy to say ... might be a bit more difficult to do. My main recreation/sanity revolves around two wheels ...
