I've never tried anything but the slowest setting as I'm no machinest! Thanks for the tip. I'll have to play around with it a bit.

1 7/8" diameter drill, right? I don't have a calculator handy. I may send you a speed and feed recommendation tomorrow.

A lot is trial and error, Lou. Keep kicking up feeds and speeds til you get the results you want or run into trouble and back off a bit.

I was told after the fact, all I needed to do was stop and restart the feed and the chip would have stopped forming
