The other thing to try is kick the feed up one step at a time til the chpi breaks off by itself.

 

I've never tried anything but the slowest setting as I'm no machinest! Thanks for the tip. I'll have to play around with it a bit.

 

As soon as I did it, I said oh sh*t , I opened my hand, I swear I could see right to the bone !!!

A lot is trial and error, Lou. Keep kicking up feeds and speeds til you get the results you want or run into trouble and back off a bit.

 

I was told after the fact, all I needed to do was stop and restart the feed and the chip would have stopped forming

 

Kristi calls that "Stupid Man Disease" when I do stuff like that.
