The city wants us to sign agreements to maintain the medians that we have been maintaining for 12+ years with landscaping and water. Now that they want to formalize an agreement I want them to cut us a deal on the water to keep the green spaces green. We pay for the plants, watering, mowing and upkeep. They should kick in something right? We also have some areas that aren't irrigated that we'd like for them to provide the irrigation system for. Another issue is that we want to hire off duty policemen for our neighborhood to patrol only our neighborhood to stamp out some of the racing and petty theft that has been occurring.

Night Chuck. Keep in mind that mileage and grip are trade offs buddy. The best dry pavement tire has no tread and the best wet pavement tire is nothing but grooves. The trick is to find the happy medium.

It can't be a completely one way relationship. Our water bill in the summer is more than 9K a month. We need some relief. The alternative is that we refuse the agreement and turn over the medians to the city increasing their maintenance costs. I don't think they'd like that. I'm only going to ask for 50% off the water bill which I think is reasonable.

It has been awful good of your development to take care of city property. Have you looked into other such agreements to see if you're requests are in line?

We've never had agreements and now the city wants them after last summer when we had so much trouble with the landscaper who we fired in July. The city came out and mowed some grass and tried to bill our HOA for it and I told them to show me an agreement where we were responsible for city property. They couldn't. We didn't pay unless you count paying our new contractor to mow paying. We won't sign any agreements until we get some concessions for sure.
