I know exactly how this happened. The management company who works for the HOA went on their monthly rounds looking for violations. The little lady (probably very inexperienced) noticed a flag that was not a US flag and wrote a violation for it. Keep in mind that the HOA Board of directions hasn't seen the violation yet but the homeowner who received the violation immediately ran to the media for relief from the big bad HOA even though they have not had a chance to cure the situation. The rules were not written by the Board I can guarantee you, they were written by the developer who built the property and passed to the Board upon divestiture. Changing rules such as this takes a vote of the general membership and as is the case here, you can't get a quorum together even with free pizza. I can empathize with the Board in this situation but it really is much ado about nothing and the media having nothing better to do.

Tempting ...but this close to spring I tend to start building a nest egg for any new doo-dads or trinkets the bike may require of me. Starting February 1 each year the bike(s) have "most favored status"......
But, then again, I do like guns.
