Might be a bit far to make that run Russ! Don't know if it wood meet the criteria. It has to be a stainless steel model with the freezer in the bottom and since she will be the one who winds up with it when all is said and done I really don't give a ****. I'm just trying to be nice about it.

Accurate assessment. The manufacturing process added to quality of components and the move to solid state controls manufactured in Taiwan or such has screwed the consumer when it come to most appliances.
I too had a fridge that lasted 20+ years at one time. Had to replace the door seal once..

My fridges seem to last a good while. I cycle them from the house to the garage though. The one out there is 20 years old at least and it will be going to it's great reward when house #3 is built.
