Haha...would have preferred shooting them, but then I'd just have to replace them.

I used a product called Killz (think that is right) to seal an outdoor wood project. Stuff is the bomb.

Next time, try "GRIPPER" by Glidden at HomieDepot. I guarantee you'll never use KILZ again. Interior /exterior primer and blocker. The paint sticks to anything. I've painted ceramic tile with it and you couldn't scrape it off with a fingernail. Wear gloves, though. It doesn't like coming off your hands either.

It comes in white, but I've had them tint it to match the final paint color ...works really well...
