Since we are on the subject of bits....can anyone explain what a 'bitcoin' is and how it has any value other than whatever some nebulous network says it is?

 

Yep, as I understand it, it is a internet based form of currency. It never exists in physical coin or bill form as a bitcoin. It is used to mask who is sending or receiving for nefarious things like pirated movies, goat/midget ****, stolen identity info...etc
