I know nothing about drywall other than it is for walls, and it is dry.

Peeled the wallpaper off and the paper on the drywall came off to. Had to basically redcoat the whole wall!

That really sucks when that happens....in my one kid's first house, you could grab a corner of paper and pull carefully and the whole sheet would come right off...took about a half hour to strip the bedroom

Some times you have to seal the wall first with shellac or varnish to seal the remaining paper so it doesn't lift when wet with mud. Done WAY too much DW work in my life.
