Oh, check it....I found the brackets BEFORE I used the piece of aluminum I bought. I was going to have to cut & drill it but turns out the pieces were just buried under everything, not in the bag of parts with the other ones.

Hard to see but to the bottom right corner of the clock you can see 4 screws and there is a metal bracket there, and at the bottom of that stud.
