One of the programmers that was trying to do my job last week (Without me knowing, but in an effort to help me) confessed how frustrating it is to try to get a price quote for that project without knowing some exact requirements. He got the run around because with out specific configurations, you cannot get a quote from the suppliers.

I'll try to take some pics of them when they're done. Some pieces are laughably out of sync with each other.

Exactly! They think I just throw together a quote by guessing or saying "Hello Servers'r'Us, please quote me for a big server, for databases" and then I pull a price quote out of thin air. Now he can attest it takes some patience, and thinking to do that part of my job.

Sounds pretty interesting Greg. Definitely send some pics.

We were working on a tow truck with a broken pin, lining the chute for a snow thrower for the town and new "paddles", made new doors for a grader and now taking apart the articulating cylinder to repair the eyes.

Lots of leg work for quotes.

Yep, with computer stuff there are so many different options you could literally get the same base model with hundreds of different configurations and few of them are close enough to one another as to be ideal for what you need to do.

Evening, Russ!
The project has been both amusing and frustrating.

Just make sure you don't get a wimmenz with a 5 1/4" floppy drive!
