I know for the 8 years I was on the Dept. every time that pager went off, it stressed out my wife. Not knowing what is going on, how big of a fire it is and if I was coming home. After I quit, that was when she told me about the stress. Of course she knew I wouldn't see it while I was on the Dept.
My wife taught school to max juvenile inmates for 14 yrs. Same facility I still work at so she knew when things were bad at the facility I was in the mix of it. I am guessing she has not worried much or would be more comfortable than most with me rushing out the door to a wreck/fire/medical call. We have a scanner at the house so she can listen to what is going on. She and my daughter also volunteer when we have fund raising events like dinners and such so she knows the other members. I think all of that makes a positive experience for her.
I just seen a video showing a cracked window being fix with water, salt, bug spray (any kind) and rubbing alcohol. Myth busters happening this afternoon.
Ive seen the headlight fog removal with bug spray and have heard it does work while others say its BS.
