How long you been working a night shift?

 

the last few weeks Greg, warm temps during the day turn the ice roads into sloppy mud roads. they have to haul logs on them at night on the frost and don't want guys like me hauling equipment to tear them up with ruts while they are thawed out. the wood haulers get upset when they can't do full speed getting lumber out of the bush.

I'd much rather work on the frost than in the mud as well. way less dirty and less tire chains lol

yeah, pretty much. there will be a slow period now for a couple months while the frost comes completely out of the all season roads, they apply road bans that restrict axle weights to save the roads from being destroyed by heavy traffic. but we have a way to deal with that, which means adding more axles to every load, which in turn means bigger hourly rates that no one likes to pay. but they gotta do what they gotta do to get their junk moved.
