A search of famous historical events occurring on this date in Mexico turned up nothing so Russ, you're gonna have to think up your own reason to celebrate today.

Morning again Woods.
Well we have ourselves a bit of drama going on in this backwoods county. It appears that some folks from out of town have bought some land back in the hills, and one of those families has decided to put up a gate across the road leading to 5 of those properties and is denying access to the owners at the point of a shotgun.
As usual, our do nothing local sheriff is doing what he does best, which is of course nothing because he's too much of a chicken ****. At a county fiscal court meeting the other night one of our new residents, a British gentleman who is one of the landowners being denied access to his property stood up and had it out with the county attorney and the sheriff made himself scarce before the gentleman even had a chance to start.
Because of my disdain for local politics, I tend to live in my own little bubble here and so I just became aware of this a few days ago. Going to be interesting to see how it plays out.
