I've checked the motor cycle laws for Colorado and there is no minimum age, he just has to wear a helmet and sit on the seat behind me. He uses the saddlebag lids for foot rests now, though I do have the leather covers on them. Maybe we will just wash the bike today. Don't expect a Denny-ing though

I read it as they have to have foot pegs....but it doesn't specifically state their feet have to reach them. I have the Kuryakan adjustable passenger foot pegs that may work for him, if I was so inclined to re-install them

I didn't take any of my kids or grandkids out on the road until they could reach the pegs, I use to take them around the field or the driveway when they were little. My granddaughter 2 yrs old is not afraid to stand there when you fire up any of the bikes.
I've taken him on 2-3 mile rides to school or speech therapy. He does really well. Just not sure about a longer ride.
