With the correct spacing, the ***** will be centered in the inner and outer races, not being pushed against a side with offset races. If I've made any sense, try to picture how your situation will affect where the ***** will track in the races.
I know how the bearings in the wheel go together, after seating the abs bearing in its bore the non abs bearing gets installed just till it touches the spacer leaving no play but no side loading. In the driven pulley two bearings get pressed in , in a stack , pressing only on the outer race. There is a spacer that gets "trapped under them but has some side to side play when finished. The manual doesn't specify how much play. I'll do some more research.

Chuck, have you tried posting your question in the wheel or touring section?

Amazing what they've done. I remember spending my income tax refund some years ago on a HP Digital camera that was 2.3 MegaPixels (Or there abouts) that was about $230, 32MB SD Card for $50 or so and a 128MB thumb drive that was $104.

Boy was I the hit parade...for about as long as it took for faster, larger and cheaper products came out....about the time I hit the sidewalk outside hte store

I had a droid, only thing I really liked about it was good voice to text. Joined the Apple school today, and... voice to text sucks compared to the old android. Was told iphone is easier to use - about the same to me, but the camera is definitely better (few years newer, should be). These phones do decent today. The pic of my grandson riding in the sig pic is a still from an iPhone 6S+ video and got the cloud lighting better than my GoPro did around the same time.

Apple makes some good products, no doubt about it. My new phone camera is also about a bajillion times faster than my other phone which was only 2.5 years old. But it started acting up so I got a new one after restoring to the factory defaults and all that jazz did not work.
