Does that mean it isn't pushing the bearing all the way in, even after you cut the reliefs in the tool? I used my similar/same puller to put in a bearing (not wheel) it wasn't really designed for, and it wouldn't quite bottom out the bearing. I just found a thick washer/spacer that fit the outside bearing race and cleared the inside, and down it went. Never saw a wheel like that, but I'm stuck in the EVO days, never touched a twin cam.
I made a minor adjustment to the tool and it was all good.
I was going to cut some slots but decided to just grind some flats.

Probably less chance of stress cracks in the tool that way.
Exactly what I was thinking.
