The intakes are near the bottom of the lower unit and the way they are made I don't think the muffs would cover them. Besides, not having a utility to supply our water here means that we have to be pretty conservative in how we use it.

I did not know that. Thats right, you have to haul water?

I have a underground cistern that I catch rain water in to wash clothes, take showers, etc. If we don't get enough rain I have a 425 gal tank that I put in the back of the truck.

LOL This aint roughing it buddy. When I was a kid I had to carry a bucket to the spring, fill it up and carry it back to the house for drinking/cooking water. Took my baths in the river until the water got too cold. Then it was stand in a big old washing tub like this after I got too big to be able to sit in it


Still had to heat the water on the wood stove for baths
