Russ, just curious...how does this knee compare to the other one as far as post op pain?

To be honest, your mind plays tricks on you and don't really remember exactly. If it didn't women would never have a second child.

I can understand that....same DR. do both?..incisions the same? I was in that business for 16 years so I'm just curious.I've beenn out of it for over 20 years. My mother had one done 3 years ago. I used to deal with the surgeon a lot back years ago. Back then a big day would be to do two total knees. Now, because of advances in technique and instrumentation, he does 8 to 10 in a day.

8-10 knees a day? Damn! Medical advancements are amazing. I remember when a torn ACL or neck injury was career ending for most athletes. Now they reattach parts, replace them or put screws in to hold stuff together and the recovery times are way down, too!

Yep, he has 2 or 3 ORs going at the same time. I'm sure he has another Doc doing incisions and closures. He goes in and does actual cutting and implantation, says it takes about 45 minutes and rescrubs and goes into another room to do the same. He credits technique and instrumentation. Says the actual implants haven't changed very much in the last twenty years.
