DNS is what allows us to go to a website by name, www.hdforums.com, instead of it's IP address. So with DNS being down no one can connect to servers all over our company. Our programs are affected as well.

 

Well that sucks, check for a loose ground wire.

 

Well, we got AT&T on the case. We sub-contracted all our network support to them years ago. We are at the mercy of their people. Not sure if they are union. I know Qwest workers used to be union and they felt no need to work past 5 and felt no urgency when there was an outage, large or small

 

MarkyDOS, did you check the distributor bearing and points?

 

I tried but couldn't find my left handed monkey wrench to remove the canooter valve

 

Kinda reflective today. Not in the mood for all these inconsequential ****-ant problems.
Reminds me of one of my favorite bosses from the 1990's. Roger was a Vietnam Vet.
We'd sit and drink (a lot) and I would raise this issue and that issue........ usually when he had enough he'd say "Stanley" (not my name and he knew it, Ha), "we gotta remember not to sweat the small stuff, and when you've been where I've been....It's all small stuff !"

You're right, Stan. It will be up when its up. The DNS service/servers, that is. If I have to work late then I get over time pay. Not a bad gig, over all
