OK. Real Deal.
Let's say you had a significant other 30 years ago that was an intense 2 year relationship.
For a variety of reasons it did not materialize into a longer term deal.
Of course life goes on and basically no contact for 30 years.
Through the wonders of modern social media it appears this person ill with a terminal disease.
Do you send a sincere condolence through electronic media that's brief and concise........or just move on as it might be "uncomfortable" ??

If this person passes on, would you feel guilty of not sending your condolences?

Good points.

Stan, it could bring other questions into play, such as, "Why are you still keeping tabs on her"?
My advice, let sleeping dogs lie.

Logic would say not send.
I may have the answer as it "shouldn't be a struggle" to know the correct course of action.
