One tired old hillbilly here. Concession stand went well and we took in almost $900. I will figger out our exact net profit tomorrow when my head is clearer, but I'm thinking around $400.

We could have actually made more but I was told 200 people and I went prepared to feed that many so had some stuff left over. Most of it was sold at cost to troop members to just break even on the excess.


Still wound up with a couple flats of buns and a couple pork loins. It was definitely a burger and hot dog type crowd.

 

Didn't have that many show up?

 

They were in and out and the whole thing was pretty much over by noon. A more "mature" crowd, shall we say. They started early and although we had sausage and country ham biscuits for breakfast, they started asking for burgers around 9am so I had to accommodate them.


It was the first time I had dealt with this crowd and so it was bit of a logistical nightmare. I had grilled chicken and pork tenderloin and figgered it would go over well as it usually does. It did not. But, they have asked for us to come back next year and I know how to deal with them much more efficiently and effectively next time.

 

Next year, you'll bring burgers and dogs, and they'll be lookin for chicken and pork!

Nice to be asked back, though.
