thanks... it's hard, hot, nasty work, but it pays the bills. Still miss the army at times, but at least here the enemies are in a fixed position

What did you do in the Army, John? I was 29J in my short stint

 

I was the poggest of the pogs, Finance. I test color blind, so got stuck with office jobs. Funny part is, I ended up being good at it. Just no money in it, in the civilian sector unless you have the degrees to back it up. At 45, I'm not interested in starting all over.

 

Looks like my MOS was reclassed a few times but the description and work mostly stayed the same:

Back in 92-93 it was 29J, Telecommunication Terminal Device Repairer

A quick google search shows it also listed as 35J and 94J

 

Yeah, they've been reclassing finance for years in an effort to eliminate it. There's still a few old school guys at the top who want it around, so it survives. My old detachment from Ft. Hood is the Finance CSM. Still talk with him from time to time. Try to keep in touch with some of the old crew. Time to go make sure nobody's stolen any of our equipment. Check back in later
