Well I can now add electric hot water repairman to my repertoire. Mine was malfunctioning the last couple of weeks, over heating and tripping the breaker on the thermastat. Figured I better get to the bottom of that before I burned the house down.
I removed both upper and lower elements and replaced them with a couple of ULDW elements even though they tested ok. Vacuumed the sediment from the bottom of the tank and WA LA I have hot water again that's not 200+ *!.
Now if I don't get a cold shower in the morning , I can claim success .

Nice, Chuck that you got it fixed, but what is a ULDW?

Thermastats are the same and it is now heating properly. If the problem reoccurs, replacing them will be next.
