Baker, we are chatting on Facebook. They are hoping for the storm to stay off the coast. They are hoping for no worse than wind and rain, but they are on the Intracoastal Waterway (literally 100 feet across the street) and I think they will be surprised by the storm surge. Mom and Pop's old house is even closer, their back yard backs up to the water. Glad Pop sold it...this would be too much for him to deal with

Me too, Greg. I still cannot imagine why they didn't head west. Part of me thinks they were wary of having to leave the dogs in a vehicle rather than in a hotel room with them.

Here is the view from the back porch of my folks old place. You can see the intracoastal wouldn't need to rise but about 3-4 feet to reach the house. My sisters house is across the street and 5 houses down, but at least not ON the water.




My Pop left his boat in storage at Mayport Naval Station. He is hoping it will be there after the storm passes

Pop is at a camp ground in Lake City, about 75 miles west of Jax. He is safe
