TOAK The thread of all knowledge VII
HAHAHAHAHA, what it's "worth" and what you can get for it are worlds apart Lou.
I quit them for several reasons...1 of which being my pain is nerve pain and pills will never really do much for me. But there was a guy from my old church in Loveland that was forced off cold turkey and he ended up comitting suicide because he couldn't get any help, not even from the ER. So there was a few different reasons for me and having to plan out how many pills to take for an X hour long ride or trip and all that...yeah, I got enough stress to deal with and that was just one more thing I didn't want or need to deal with.
Again, not every one can do it. Different pain for different people. Some people are more active and that aggrivates the pain...not everyone is a keyboard warrior like me.

Markus, that is really quite a story and my hat is off to you for doing what you had to do. Keep up the good work because I'm sure there are times when you're tempted to go back to the "old ways". Just like other stories I am familiar with, that sounds like a dead end Street.

Thankfully it is not easy to get hold of the pills. I'd probably have to re-enroll in the pain mgmt clinic since I cancelled my last appt and never rescheduled. My primary care doc will not prescribe any long term pain meds so cannot go there to ask for them either. She will only prescribe for major injury short term pain relief.
I guess this is one instance where the red tape works in my favor. Ironically, my primary care doc just broke her clavicle and is prolly convalescing at home with the help of opioids.
Wonder if she has to have a prescription? Ha
