TOAK The thread of all knowledge VII
Gloria's last visit to the hospital brought the pain med problem to the fore with me. Every time a nurse walked in gloria was offered pain meds. And she wasn't in pain. Stupid
Hell, Beth had a C Section with Benjamin and the way she was carrying on I said "never again"
The pain killers start off relieving the pain, then mask the pain, then only take edge off. After a while they are not effective at all. I am glad I have managed to get off of them. I think some doctors are all too eager to prescribe them just for the return visits ($$$ in the US, at least) and don't really give a **** about fixing what is wrong. Same with insurance companies.
Hope Julia is able to heal and get the actual relief she deserves because of the surgery.

Been there, lived that.
This goes back to the earlier posts about the tranq's. The human body becomes so used to it that higher doses and new mixes are no longer a surprise to anyone. I was taking 4 x 10mg percs a day before going cold turkey after Christmas Day. I started to wonder at what point does insurance decide to pay for an MRI or when does the doc say no more driving.riding because of my dose...etc.
Wow!!! Julia almost had to beg!

When my kids were born, I didn't feel any pain at all... it was when they became teenagers the pains started!!
Hahahaha!
Can'tcha put them back at that stage?
Wife had to have a C section with all three of our boys.
When we went in to have our first they tried to have her give birth. They gave her an epidural.
At the same time there was a couple there that had decided they wanted a natural birth without meds. Now I know what it probably sounded like when Torquemada was working on people during the Spanish Inquisitions!
After a point they can't give the meds even if they want them. Man that woman had some good lungs!
