The pain killers start off relieving the pain, then mask the pain, then only take edge off. After a while they are not effective at all. I am glad I have managed to get off of them. I think some doctors are all too eager to prescribe them just for the return visits ($$$ in the US, at least) and don't really give a **** about fixing what is wrong. Same with insurance companies.
Hope Julia is able to heal and get the actual relief she deserves because of the surgery.

My Pop had to have both done...was grinding bone on bone. Sometimes not doing it is not an option.

Thanks Greg. I hope so too. They still expect her to do her therapy 3 times a day, which she does. Maybe not to the intensity they wood like right now, but at least she does something.
