Larry, don't know exactly without researching but that bill has not been in circulation for decades. Had a very rich neighbor, very elderly, that had me help her once by going to her bank to put something in her safe deposit box. She had a bundle of uncirculated 500's in it.

Yep Mick ... I knew it was out of circulation. It would be nice to have. Great conversation in a bar, if you get out alive with it.

Per your point ... You've got to wonder how people get by without a bit of "jingle" stashed away for the ( ever increasing ) rainy days.

Larry, I still recall vividly the number of people who purchased cars and were scrambling to find the cash to pay the tag, tax and title fees within 30 days. Sign up for an ungodly payment, all their charge cards maxed, etc.

A BK waitin' to happen.

Marcus, time for some tech advice. Need to buy an external storage device. Hard to believe I have filled up one I bought several years ago. Looking at a 2TB Western Digital or same storage in a Seagate. Price difference negligible. Advice?

Yowza....the American way, Al. I used to laugh at my salespeople and tell 'em, This is America and you can finance a refrigerator if you want. Of course if you have to finance a refrigerator you have a bigger problem than I can help you with.

Mick, about 20 years ago, I sent a prospective home buyer to my bank for a mortgage. Guy goes in and tells the bank he has excellent credit, blah blah blah. Banks checks. His wife had $45,000 in CC bills that he had no knowledge of. She was making minimum payments every month that he didn't know about....
