when I was stationed at Hood, they had signs up at one RR crossing. Found out a soldier had gotten killed due to being parked on the tracks and blasting his tunes. Didn't see the train til it was halfway through his car.
We have an old school crossing in town where it's just a stop sign. Some kids got hit trying to beat it about 5-6 years ago. Train was only doing about 15mph but it still did some damage.

Probably Mark ... Speaking of "Old Time Crossings" ... there are a couple of towns in Michigan ( I know Byron is one ) where the train CANNOT sound their whistle/horn within the city limits ... Don't want to wake the locals ???
No such rule in our town I hear the *********** every morning about 4.
2 block from the train here. Don't even notice the horn anymore.
Students get killed ever year at work walking on the tracks. Something about alcohol and earbuds. Also the occasional homeless guy gets hit.
