Is it OK to have a pre-nap nap? Ya know, to get yourself ready?

Studies have been done and the results are inconclusive....pre-sleep naps at , done at the correct time, have had positive results

Risky for a beginner, use a timer so you don't extend the pre nap into the main nap.

Usually takes years to do this without a timer or wake up call.

Due to the overwhelming request of our dedicated readers and followers of " The Ultimate Guide to Napping", I bring you a short story on napping.............

THE PERFECT CHRISTMAS WEEK NAP

The outside temperature hovers near the freezing mark. A soft breeze blows, unable to rustle the brown frozen leaves left over from Fall. I pad softly through the house to the upper stairwell to give the signal to my wife who is dutifully wrapping Christmas gifts. "I'm going downstairs to lay down", I say. She responds with "OK", silently aware of the warning not to run the vacuum cleaner on the first floor.

As I pass throught the living room, I notice our Yellow Lab napping peacefully in front of the fireplace. The canine version of Napping Yoda is in a special mental state totally oblivious to sights, sounds, smells, cracks of lightning and earthquakes. I pause for a moment to verify that he is in fact alive and I see the slightest rise and fall of his rib cage...all is well.

I close the door behind me and go down the stairs to the basement family room. The recessed lights are dimmed casting a peaceful aura on the restored natural stone foundation. The blinds are closed. The Christmas tree twinkles in the corner. I prepare the napping couch with a 3" memory foam mattress covered with a flannel sheet. The TV is tuned the The History Channel. "Gospels that the Bible Forgot' is on. The commentators drone on as the Memory mattress softly caresses every curve of my body........I have achieved the nirvana of holiday naps......zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

After lunch check in. Al thank you for reminding me that I will not get a nap today. So a friendly reminder for you. The grass should start growing in about 4 months.

The first requirement of achieving the perfect nap is to rid your mind of all stress and worries of things to come. Therefore, your comment on the ^%$%^& gr*ss has no effect on mind that is at peace...
