Well ...It's still up in Flint, and there is a whole lot of head scratchin' going on. No "dis-assembly" or parts replacing yet. Cold start ( in the shop ) and the oil pressure gauge is "maxed out".
We don't concern ourselves with trivial things at our age....and about 98% of stuff is trivial.... But...worse than extension cords, if you have an old house, is the 3prong to 2 prong outlet adators. I have gotten very good at breaking the ground plug off cords.
Cool. Let me know. Always like the cause of a head scratcher. Rather learn from someone else's misfortune.

Have switched most on my outlets to 3 prong. Sure helped me from tripping breaking.
I've changed when any remodeling was involved. The problem is some of the old stuff with the **** and tube, there's barely and inch of slack and ,as you know, the insulation has a tendency to crumble if you touch it. Sometimes better to leave well enough alone. I meant to tell you when you were talking about the old wiring some time ago. If the old insulation cracks or crumbles, I put a length of vacuum hose or fuel line over it and tape the end to hold it. Saved my *** a number of times.
