Dammit, Greg, are you talking about splitting the inbound coax? That won't work. A 2nd router would be considered a separate account. He'd have to split it from the first router to another router/switch/access point.

I dunno, old Bumbles Biden would have said something offensive such as "Wifi extenders are great. I had 3 illegals install one in my bedroom after they were done cleaning and installing new carpet"

If he can split the inbound line then the signal to the garage will be stronger, I just though that providers would view that as a new account since it would require a 2nd modem from them.

I split mine form the Comcast modem down to the basement and into a switch to share to multiple ports/devices.
