Tomorrow is the last day for our county. Not sure what day in January they go back. Last year we got a big snow while they were off and it turned into a damn near 4 week break for 'em.
We never got an extended break for snow or any other reason. Of course, we were tougher than kids are today....not as tough as your generation, but a lil tougher.
I don't know about how tough we were (are), but we've got hollers here that never have sunlight fall into them from about November to March. The terrain makes it impossible to get busses out to the kids when there is even a little snow or ice on the roads.
I can remember standing at the bus stop at 2 degrees and the wind whipping. Very rare to get a snow day.
When we finally moved to town, I walked to school on some pretty nasty days as I recall. Fortunately it was uphill only one way.
Very seldom do we have temps in the single digits during the day here. Everything is so flat up there brother I can understand how things could kinda proceed near normal!
Jack, headed west if you don't make a pit stop in Tucumcari the next wet spot in the road is Santa Rosa, is it not?
I think so Mick. I know for sure Clines Corner is out West of there. Stopped there many times as well for fuel and a corny dog.

Very true Marcus, but One has to be careful these days who he copulates with. My phone has blown up with 15 text messages and 9 voice mails from a pissed off Pretty Girl who's jealous over a chick I've never even copulated with!!!!
