Evenin' Wooders, back from meetings and suits dinner.
Today was pretty much a mixed bag but with this down Ag economy nothing surprises me anymore.
A few changes but essentially the areas that affect me are much increased travel (50% +) because the field sales staff is not getting the job done.
My role will shift from centralized (office) dealer sales/marketing support and training/mentoring, to leading a more focused charge for new dealers and new distribution to a higher degree in the field......as an individual with one-to-one calls. Funny, we honestly told them this needed doing 2-3 years ago and no one disagreed..... but again the field reps didn't get it done. Now it's on my plate. Not a total surprise and at least they pulled 2 semi-ineffective (for my brand) regional managers out of the loop. Good move there.
