My snow blower is an MTD and was FREE! Works great for the price!

Single stage throwers are the chit when it comes to the light, early season fluffy sand that blows easily and everyone's happy.
I've only ever used 2 stage units because in our heavy snows, errrr "sands" they blow circles around the single stage.
It may be that your lake effect sands are the fluffy "happy" snow variety, and as such your mileage may vary.
I have the big two stage for heavy sn*w falls. Light snow up to 2", I use a push broom. Need something in between when the big one is just too big to maneuver around. Maybe something my wife can handle....haha..like she would ever clean sn*w. She thinks it's a big deal when she says " I'll clean the steps for you"...4 steps!

I'm glad we don't have those Northern problems down here Mick. When we have an ice storm, I just wait for the temps to climb then bust out the water hose and melt that stuff off the driveway.

You think they have an unlimited supply? I mean from what I saw, there was a good amount but I don't know if there would be a quantity enough to melt a bunch ice off the driveway.
