One example off the top of my head:
I had caught a 5 lb. catfish at a local reservoir. I went to clean it and got: "NO, NO, NO!!!!"
When we got home she plopped it in a pot, covered it with all manner of spices and then water and boiled it. Called all her friends over. When they got done eating only a few ribs remained. Oh, and the middle of the eyeballs.

Old school! I'm surprised that the good folks in CA don't pitch a hissy fit over the branding with a hot iron.
Electric de-horner and hot iron branding. Man I can smell it from here! LOL
All my cattle were polled Black Angus. Didn't have to deal with that, thankfully.
Have used nippers on the young ones and once had a Keystone de-horner about 3ft long for the big ones. Man that will get 'em a bellerin'!

It is very difficult to maintain that sort of balance in your apparel. I answered a ring at the front door once while wearing them and I believe the young man who was peddling his wares did not appreciate my monkey jammies. He appeared to be one of those who was easily offended by any connection to lower primates.
