Morning all Woods of Good Christmas Cheer.
No pheasants whatsoever were harmed in yesterday's sortie. They all seem to take the day off and didn't tell anybody. I always enjoy stomping around the farm I grew up on regardless.
Although the actual words have not been spoken I'm afraid I'm in for a little more Xmas shopping today :-(

If you ever get them Pheasants, here's a recipe you might want to try.

CREAM OF PHEASANT SOUP

One pheasant skinned, boned out and cute into bit sized bits (Breasts only be best I think)
Braise in garlic butter, ½ stick

2 cans of cream of Mushroom soup
2 cans of Celery soup
1 qt of Milk
½ cup uncooked wild rice rinsed
One package of frozen California vegetables
One medium onion, chopped.
2 large stalks of celery, chopped.
8-10 oz of Velveeta cheese
Salt and Pepper to taste
Sliced almonds option…but really add to it.

In 5 qt crockpot, mix soups with milk until semi thin soup consistency, may need to add more milk later.
Add pheasant, wild rice, vegetables, onion and celery.
Cook 3 to 4 hours on high.
Add cheese, stir till melted.
Before serving stir well, add almonds serves 6

Surprisingly the Velveeta helps and I'd think if you got two birds you could add them both, using just the breasts.
