Neat, Mike! Showed one of the neighbors last night the progress on the basement and he told me he could have done the whole thing in 2 weeks since he had taken a month off for the arrival of his 2nd child and needed a side project to keep him busy. Everyone is a top notch builder when the work is almost done, huh?

We are getting ready to start wiring the house we're working on. Had to gut the old section, replace several rough sawn, and warped rafters that were probably put in green. Man those things will pull nails as they dry.

Got two bathrooms to tile..

Exactly! Everyone is faster, better and cheaper when critiquing someone elses work.

Yep. I have to believe his claim of 2 weeks did not take into account the accommodations to be made for the super fantastic, out of this world, over the top media server area.

Just putting up the drywall, taping, coating and sanding is a minimum 4-5 day job.

I know...that's one of the most important pieces of the work being done!

Mm hmmm. I am unusually patient with this project because I know I would be no more than a material schleper if I had any involvement in it. And we wanted it done right so we aren't looking for fastest or cheapest.

That would be a great benefit since the only other help we have right now is his somewhat spazzed out son (my nephew) who shows up about 3 days a week.. Maybe.

The boy is a loser who has 2 kids that his sister is basically raising. He's had some pretty bad drug problems in the past. Supposedly staying clean right now but still pretty much supported by his parents.

Pisses me off...
