If it's a grain, you can make whiskey out of it. I always preferred rye whiskey in my heavier drinking days. Corn liquor almost always gave me the ***** the next day!
My Canadian relatives drank rye whiskey by the water glass full. I think they're all dead now ! I don't think the whiskey had any thing to do with though. Best people you could ever meet.

The was an old fellow in Jackson County KY (now deceased) who was an absolute artist when it came to distilling spirits. He bought barrels from Buffalo Trace or other distillers and would re-char and use them. Oh man what that guy sold was just amazing. Smooth and went down easy. You didn't know how hard it was hitting you until you tried to get up and your knees wouldn't work!

One year he had some paw-paw (native fruit) brandy. I bought a couple gallons to give away in pint jars for Christmas. I gave away most of it before I actually tried it out myself. I wanted to go get it back!

I hope I can oblige you Tim. We'll see.

I'm betting much of the guide will revolve around the Smoky Mts. Keep in mind that's where we'll be doing a lot of sightseeing during our stay at Maggie Valley. We're figgering on being in Gatlinburg and the surrounding area some.
