All quiet at the shuffle this a.m.
Don't think I mentioned it here, but I had to clear the building Thursday morning. When I arrived, too damn early as usual, I found our alarm tripped and the side door busted open. I started in when I thought better of it. Not worth it when we have police paid to do this. So, went back downstairs and called 911. After 45 minutes of waiting, I decided no one was probably still there and went back in. Cleared our floor and then checked what I could get to in the rest of the building. Nothing was disturbed anywhere. Alarm must have scared them off when they got the door open. About the time I was satisfied I was alone, started the coffee and my phone rang. Dispatch. Wanted to verify the address because they couldn't find it!! Told her they should probably start including map reading at the academy since I am 4 blocks from the main downtown police station and directly across the street from the Governor's mansion!! Geez! Oh, well do you still need them? No, but since we have to have a report and they are the only one that can issue it, send them on!!
Disclaimer: I fully support the police 100% and don't envy their job at all! But dammit man, someone could have been in here! We had a lady from an office downstairs sexually assaulted in the parking lot a month or so ago in broad daylight.
