TOAK The thread of all knowledge VII
We're doing this on a house that was basically built onto a much older structure more than doubling the size. Working on the older part sucks. There is nothing plumb or square about it and getting the siding to line up with the new part is a cast iron bitch.
As much as a 4" difference in wall height in 24' in the old part..

The guys delivering the drywall today couldn't get it through the basement window and the way it was installed made it very difficult to remove, so they brought 51 sheets of drywall in the front door, into the living room then reversed direction to go down the steps to the basement. They also had to remove the hand rail for the stairs and pull some recently installed insulation on one wall to make the turn at the bottom of the stairs. I know I bitch about my job but no way I could do what some of these cats do day in and day out. Like Tracy and the siding or his farming work, or Lou and his shop work.
Just different parts of the same body man! No way I could do what all y'all do. Just glad I have been successful at one thing in life! That and a lot of luck.
You're right, Lou. If we all built basements, we wouldn't have the intar_webz
Sometimes I ask dumb questions, or questions that seem condescending when I inquire about how they build this or why that thing is there with the basement stuff. That is an issue of using the wrong tone or words...I am actually fascinated by that stuff since I don't do anything tangible in my job. Stuff changing from red to green on a computer screen doesn't leave a pile of stuff I an touch and say "That's what I did today"
