80% 1911 didn't interest me. Too frekin expensive to build out.
I figure they're close enough in price to any off the shelf model I'd buy. Plus after you factor in not paying taxes and a background fee they really aren't that bad. Also the whole nobody knows I have it part makes it worth while.

Best I've seen in CA is $700-1200 to finish the gun.
The ones I'm looking at are right around a grand. That's if I don't keep talking myself into upgrading every damn part like I've been doing with the AR I'm building.
