Hahaha.....first week on Coronado Island we have Bloomquist (odd how ya never forget those kind). He tells instructor his Dad is some mucky muck in Minnesota and he's gonna call Dad. Instructor tells him, go ahead, I'll kick his ***, too. Instructor finished with Bloomquist and we never saw him again.

Apparently the Drill was not impressed with Daddy's accomplishments.

As I recall our instructors were really not overly impressed with anything in the civilian world.

Funny you would bring this up, Russ. A few days ago I told Sherri it's odd when ya think your life peaked at 19 years of age, know what I mean?

They sure couldn't conduct things today like they did back then.....The DI's were judge, jury, and executioner.

Don't get me wrong, I've had a wonderful life and been blessed but damn, there ain't much to get the adrenalin pumping like live fire. Maybe that's why so many guys who have served ride?

Ain't that the truth. I think most of us learned to appreciate life.
