FYI Memo
Now here Baker one can see the resistor is properly wired and designed to keep the positive voltage up. If there was splicing it's not visible and doesn't appear to affect performance.
Undoubtedly the jugs will run cooler as a result, except when they run hotter, and that's not a bad deal either.........
