Great pics Tim, thanks for sharing...
Especially like the pics of the cow elk on the edge line.
Chased elk all over the Rocky Mountains with my bow, all on public land. There was a 3 year learning curve, cuz hunting elk ain't nothing like hunting whitetails. Spent many nights in a spike camp at 9,000 ft with nothing more than I could carry on my horse and my pack horse. Damn I love wilderness hunting, and I have more stories than I have time to tell....
My best bull. Not no monster by any means, but lots of Goddamn hard *** work on public land trying to get within bow range.

Good bow buck taken on the Brazos river.
Antler color depends on what they have to rub on. Big bucks in the corn belt in my opinion have the prettiest antlers I've ever seen, a butter yellow color. They actually rub on large corn stalks.
This buck tore the hell out of cedar trees within a 300 acre area that was his core. Made his antlers chocolate dark. Darkest antlers of any buck I've killed...

That's enough of all that bow bull$hit...
Pretty much out of my system now. Takes a lot of work. Only thing I would pick up my bow for now would be a mountain lion. Always wanted to take one, on his terms and turf though. No bait, no dogs, which probably means no lion for me.
I've only had one chance, 3 years ago here in Texas, couldn't get an arrow in him.
I'll still sleep at night

Good morning Morning Woods
Some great pics last night from Tim and Jack.
Tim I always went by the philosophy that if you're not sure you can get through it, hit that sucker wide open!
