I adjusted my steering head this afternoon. I sure hope I did it right. Looked around in here and over at HTT for info. The book is about useless for it.
All info I got over complicates things. You just want it tight enough to hold if you turn it 3*-5* off center. It should fall after that. Its just enough pre load for the bearing. Any looser and it can hammer the bearings.
So, I turned the adjuster clockwise til it started dragging, then tapped the adjuster back til it fell free. It didn't take but a small tap back for it to fall free.

should be barley able to move the bars then they fall.
